This book is an interesting premise.  The start of the book puts (us) in medias res (into the middle of things). You are not too sure why particular things are happening. We will probably find more of the back story as the rest of the issues come out. I'll give the artist, Larry Henry, Jr. credit for the divergence from the typical panel layout. It keeps the story flowing.  Michael Gurley when writing this issue does not show all his cards.  It leaves wanting to find out more about both the story and the characters involved. If you're into stories about people who can see the future (violent futures at that) then this is the book for you. For a maiden voyage at starting this book this was a successful trip.

First, apologies and thanks. I haven't had access to my computer in roughly a month and this makes my ability to update this website a nulled effort and thanks to Mike and Rob. Without them I wouldn't have made it to the convention. To the other artists at the convention you were a wealth of help and speaking with you reminds me why I like drawing as much as I do.

THURSDAY

From 30k ft flying to Chicago was nice. No major issues, no bumps, no delays and a nice nap was good to get the trip started out right. Mike was there to get my butt from the airport to the convention center and I didn't know it, but it was my first lesson is offensive driving and if you drive offensively- you don't get anywhere.

The floor of the convention center was massive [huge]. It's too much to take in the first day. I felt like I was in college or something.

They had a new huge HULK out front and it was freakin awesome. I can't say enough about it. It's my first time being that close to a movie type prop and it was kewl.

Keeping in mind this was Thursday evening. People were already lined up to get in. Being in artist alley this was a moral booster for me.

Not knowing who all was going to be there I was ecstatic that Angel Medina was going to be there. He was the artist for SPAWN. I've issues 1-53 of Spawn [back when it was good]. I stopped collecting them when the stories went to Child Abuse and household cleaners. ANYWAY- MOVING ON.

There were a lot of characters [people dressed up]. Something I've never experienced before on days excluding Halloween.

FRIDAY

Mike was psyched and his Captain Morgan champion pose-off form shows it.

Before everyone had a chance to stand on our names and steal my moment in the sun, I took a quick shot of the booth inhabitants. That's me #4 'Larry Henry'. I'm in forth place already.

We had great company. To my right was Zander Cannon [had no idea who he was and which it probably made for a good day for him]. I paid no attention to him initially and he was relatively quiet. So each to his own world. BTW thanks for the conversation Zander. I really had a good time and enjoyed the information you shared.

The guy to my left Terry [I think- sorry] was another artist and again, in his own world and it's like horses in the gate at the track. Here's some of Terry's stuff.

SATURDAY

The sheer number of people at the convention is astounding. It's early Saturday, these guys have been here for hours waiting to get inside. Again, being on artist alley made me feel nice. Because these people are actually here to see me and people like me.

I was able to catch Rob as he looked at the first printed copy of Premonitions. Mike kept the printed copies of the book as ransom to make sure we make an effort to get to the convention.

More characters.

This leather out fit was awesome. The time it took to get in this thing- I don't know, but the results were great.

These guys were kewl. They were just looking at the comic books and they were like really laid back and chattin' I kinda felt bad if I could take their picture, but when I did they whipped out  the light sabers and struck this serious pose. I was impressed.

Okay this chick was really dangerous. The wings you see in the picture were sheet metal and boys and girls this thing had points to it. When she walked and turned it made that sheet metal thunder sound. whew!

One of my favorites Joker and Harley.

COMMISSIONS

I did sketches while was there. There was like this 9-12 kid and he asked if I did sketches and I did a sketch for him and he was so excited about the one I was doing it made me happy and just gave it to him and didn't bother charging for the sketch. It's a feeling I don't think i'll forget soon.

I only did three commissions, but was only thoughtful enough to take a picture of just one I did.
